>>25126596Eh, people just tend to play games differently I guess. In my case, I like to choose to play as the male character whenever the character I have to play as is a 'blank slate'. Since the point of those is to self-insert and it helps with immersion. With games for already established characters (i.e fighting games), I tend to choose the female characters.
Also since I like story, getting a female rival over a male one seemed like a plus.Of course I was bummed to find out the female trainer gets more customization options but I'd still go with male in the end.
