Pros: Cute girls and creatures. Felt like a decent balance between the typical turn-based RPG and rogue-like dungeons.
Decent postgame, though is still a single player experience unless you have friends to fight locally.
Rather than capturing, you are encouraged to create monsters either through fusion or through raw materials. Interesting take.
Plot is kinda cheesy involving purifying dark plushkins corrupted by some evil force, but it does match the game's cheerful tone.
Cons:
Is far more of a Pokemon clone than YW is, in that protagonist is motivated to travel the world to be the best plushkin master.
Said travel is mostly dungeoning, so game is instance-based.
Experts in turn-based RPGs might find it on the easy side, though it does provide a better challenge main-game than Pokemon's main game.
Harvesting materials can be tedious since only a few spawn per floor (1-3).
Capturing Plushkins is RNG like YW. Use a material and hope plushkin offers their servitude to you.
All creatures have at least 5-7 recolors, all of which count as their own creature. With only roughly 120 kinds out there, that means about at least half or more are recolors. Some evolve, though don't expect too much in the cool-looking department.
Has to face an even worse dividing line than being 'too japanese,' The boy/girl gender fight
Will have a hard time distinguishing itself from other monster collecting games
