Hey /vp/, I haven't had a handheld since gameboy, and am planning on getting a 3ds.

What's the better purchase right now, XY or Ruby/Sapphire?

I dunno. If you're nostalgic for R/S, get OR/AS first, if you aren't, get X/Y first. Ignore all the autists here. They're both perfectly decent games.

I enjoyed more ORAS, although if you like the game that you buy, you'll probably end up buying the other one as well. Besides I also bought the 3ds and the last handheld i had was the Game Boy

ORAS is more if you haven't played RS before. Most of the people who complain about it are complaining about how it's "not muh emerald" but it's fine otherwise. XY is an overall good maingame with a poor endgame.

Friendly reminder that gen 4 is virtually unplayable thanks to its shit engine and awful region layout and gen 6 is better in every way

Play it on a 3DS and it's so much better. I still remember the days when I played Pearl and how slow and shitty it was though. And it was pretty much a GBA game on a DS considering it didn't even use the bottom screen. HG/SS did what should've happened earlier in gen IV.
