>>25139316>>25139088OP this anon is right, in both BW1 and 2 there are really great water, fire(and fighting, the fire starter is another fire/fighting mon) and grass types around, and because unova adds 150 new pokemon (in BW1 you can only catch unovamons until the post game, in BW2 they are all still available but there are a bunch of pokemon from other regions added in, and new areas to spread the pokemon distribution out nicely) you'll want to try them out and discover new favorites. The habitat list feature is really useful, it shows you which mons are available on which route (they show up when you have seen them, even in a trainer battle somewhere, you don't need to catch everything) so you can keep looking around until you find all the pokemon in the area.
You should probably know OP, pretty much every single unova pokemon is useful in-game, sure, a bunch are shit competitively, but within the game itself none of them are really bad, so feel free to try out whatever you like without worrying about how weak they look (in fact, I'd say some of the weakest/stupidest looking unova pokemon are the ones that carry you through the game
like stunfisk holy fuck that thing is better than it looks)
Something that was added in HG/SS which is really useful is that when you look at your pokemon's stats, you can now see what their nature actually does. An adamant pokemon will have their attack highlighted red because it is boosted, and their special attack in blue because it is lowered. So now you can actually tell which nature does what.
You should also know that you don't need to beat a gym to use HMs anymore, as soon as you get the HM you are allowed to use it.
by the way, the following pokemon evolve via a trade evolution, online support has been cut to gen 5, so you'll need to have another ds or a friend to evolve them.
