so that they could show him jumping onto his head? this is the first time they have been able to give pokemon truly dynamic move animations. so now they don't have to keep him on his head constantly, they can just show it when he attacks.

A much better question is why they never fixed Triple Kick. It sucked before, and it still sucks. If they just buffed the accuracy and power, it would be usable. And it's not like Hitmontop is overpowered or anything, he could use a good exclusive move.
