This. They very seldom add anything to the line and feel like useless filler. The distribution also makes no sense.
Some instances, like Smoochum or Tyrouge make sense but Pokemon like Chingling, Bedew or Mantyke are better off not existing since the Pokemon they evolve into don't really need the baby form. Pokemon like Khanghaskan or Miltank could use a prevo however, yet don't get them.

I liked them. I would prefer to capture baby forms of pokemon and raise them into big, strong monsters. There's nothing worse than getting a Skarmory or Tauros or Tropius and knowing they'll never evolve.

Half the fun of pokemon is raising them up and evolving them.

They could've been good for Pokémon that are usually mid to late-game so one could receive one in early game.
But, not counting Crystal, the only time that happened was in B2W2 with Magby/Elekid. For example Mantyke and Smoochum are still mid to late game and Pikachu, Clefairy and Jigglypuff were already early game.

I get their existence in gen 2 since the gen was an introduction ro breeding.

Any gen with baby pokemon after that makes no sense at all.

It makes even less sense that we have all tjese baby pokemon while still not having baby pokemon who actually make sense to include in the game like Kangaskhan or a common prevo to Tauros/Miltank

Explorers of Sky, pic is the hardest dungeon in the game.

Smoochum can only do it because Forewarn lets it randomly evade any attack, even sure hit ones, and Powder Snow hits everything in the room.

Good idea, bad concept- make "baby -only" moves athat are really strong but can ONLY be learn by babies.
Something like: Shrieky cry: Pokemon that targeted this pokemon will have their att/sp att lowered
Baby chomp: 10 pwr, have 50% to make attacked pokemon fall in love.
Baby thinking: Rises all stats for 2 stages for one turn.

i really love how most baby-pokemon are designed.... i just really can`t stand them for fucking with the breeding-system. Breeding a pokemon for competitive that got a baby-form in Gen2 is just a pain in the ass because baby-mons can`t breed and you have to evolve your newly hatched baby-mon first in order to use it for further breeding .... all the baby-mons from the other gens are also annoying bacause of the smoke-item the parents have to hold, which also fucks you up when you`re breeding for competitive mons
