I've given a couple of the past Mystery Dungeon games a shot. The stories generally are quite good, but I hate the gameplay. So while I actually do think I'd enjoy the plotline/twists/etc., I don't think it's worth it to me because of the tedious gameplay.

I have the game in my room. My old 3ds is broken and I couldn't fix it. Luckily I was able to preorder that new pokemon 3ds in time to grab this and smash. I also pre ordered the megaman legacy collection.

I liked the guild group overall but I think the members could've been trimmed down a bit and we should've been at the guild longer. I knew the personalities of all the schoolmates better than I knew the guildies.

Bunnelby, Swirlix and Dedenne probably could've been dropped altogether without too much changing

I'd have taken it much further and write out the Expedition Society altogether. We already had a likeable bunch of characters with the school kids, they should have just stuck with them for the side cast for the rest of the game, not to mention it'd give the Serene Village part a reason to exist.
