Pokemon that have more room to evolve should get another evolution. Not something like Volcarona, which would be perfectly fine having a mega, but something like Banette, which had a counterpart that got an evolution, evolved at a relatively low level, had middling stats, and wasn't an anomaly like a trade or stone evolution. There's no reason Banette shouldn't have gotten a regular evolution instead.

I hope this opinion doesn't ruffle too many feathers.

Good 2D is better than bad 3D. I feel the jump to 3D was necessary though. It'll only improve with each gen.

I liked when there were single evolution pokemon that weren't enormous. Electabuzz and Magmar were great.

But anon, the 3D isn't bad. The only reason it looks bad is the shit resolution of the 2/3DS. If they had a lot more pixels on their screens, it would look more smooth.

They can't really take advantage of it until they drop the grid. Some people don't like the chibis but that's what happens when you do top down like that on handheld hardware. Or top down in general. Everything becomes stylized for convenience and navigation. I'm mainly saying this because anons here have given GF hell for what they feel are lazily done human models and stuff.

Not at all, but everything else about Gen V was so good that it really stuck out to me.
The 2D/3D combination in Gen IV was the only one that really worked

Gen IV's always looked awkward to me for some reason, even when it was brand new. It gave me that off feeling you get when you see blatant CGI in and anime. D/P's slowness didn't compliment it either.

I have no real opinion on Megas.

On one hand they make some shitmons viable and add an interesting new wrinkle.

On the other, they make some already strong mons broken, or worse in garchomps case, generally look poor in design for most and are a clear gimmick ripped from digimon.

I still think Fairy types are exponentially more influential than megas on the game. I can make a good team without a mega easier than I can without a fairy or fairy type move.

I dislike some of them because they're uninspired and uncreative, such as Mega Aerodactyl, that is just "Add Spikes".

As a concept I'm completely fine with it though, it's neat, though I wish, they sort of stayed like that and wasn't relocated to 1 per team. It'd be nice to see every Pokemon line get one, but that'd break the game obviously, so yeah.
