Possibly the first Pokemon I saw and thought "that doesn't look like a Pokemon."

Not because it's overdesigned though, it's the opposite. Its body is nothing but circles, and its limbs are just pointy stubs. It's like they're trying too hard to make it cute.

I don''t actively hate it though.

I hate overdesigned Pokémon too. Why do they do this to the legendaries? It really looks like shit. Well, at least Game Freak seems to try to please everyone and that's why that make atrocious ugly creatures like this one, good ones that actually looks like creatures/animal and cute Pokémon as well.

I think the term 'overdesigned' means an abundance of little details and accessories, as opposed to a creature with a simple but expressive appearance

One of the golden rules of designing that I've heard is that it's best to stop when there's nothing left to take away from the design, not when there's nothing more you can add to it

Honestly, there's not a lot that could be taken away from Magiana. Her concept necessitates a more complex design than most pokemon. If I could change one thing? Remove the wavy gold trim from the top half of the dress and instead have the gold run all the way around the middle like the black on the pokeball. And even then, the wave decals are meant to imitate the ruffles of a ball gown. Maybe, if you wanted to get nitpicky the shield shaped seam in the middle of the button could go.
