Assuming not Gen VII and in fact Gen VI.5/Z, would people really be okay with the idea of Game Freak adding completely brand new Pokemon in the middle of a generation?

I mean, they've already set a precedent for "you HAVE to buy the new game to get the new shit/no patches for old games allowed" with the ORAS megas, forcing people to buy the new games in order to keep up with everyone else and the competitive community, and I think everyone remembers the big stink that caused.

It really feels like there's nothing stopping them from adding completely new Pokemon in the middle of the generation if they really wanted to, and everyone will be okay with it because they'll buy it regardless. But how does that make you feel?
