I'll be 25 in 3 months, and this franchise means so much to me. Back in '99 I thought it was just another weird fad I wouldn't be interested in at first, but my friend who lived next door insisted I try it out, showing me the cards, the games, and the anime, and something just clicked instantly with me. It became my favorite hobby, and a bright, happy spot in a childhood marked with sadness, abuse, and bullying. As I got older it led me to many, many friends, and even my first love. As an adult, I've mostly stuck to the games, and enjoy the new Pokemon, game mechanics, continued world-building, and yes, the deepest lore - as well as discussing those things with other adult fans. I don't think I'll ever "outgrow" Pokemon, and I can't wait to pass my love of the franchise on to my 1-year-old, and any future kids that might come along.
