>>25200608The change of characters and pokemon make a world of difference. Of course every saga is fundamentally the same of Ash getting 8 badges, TR, the fillers, etc.
But the character interaction, pokemon personalities, battles, contests/gyms, the recurring characters, etc. all make a huge impact on what makes each saga feel different than another. That's why OS, AG, DP, BW and XY don't seem anything alike when you watch them despite following the same formula, because the different characters, pokemon, roles, etc. make each saga feel different.
No two sagas of the anime ever felt exactly the same.
