Mind you, we have a "pokemon" that represents life, which should precede Mew, as it is only one form of life. Are we going to debate Xerneas in this as well? Otherwise, you would have to ascribe to the idea that all legends are only relevant to their region and nowhere else, and there's a number of ways I could discredit that since they exist in more than one region. I think I make my point that the only thing that Mew is the origin of is the living creatures we refer to as pokemon. Everything before that must only be manifesting themselves in a similar form, but they are not truly pokemon, even if they are referred to as such. They do have the same abilities, just on a larger scale. I guess the forms themselves can still be considered a pokemon, but they do not always possess this form, so their essence isn't.
