They're also supposed to be 10 years old, thats why they're short.

For real though, Sugimori's new art style looks gay as fuck.

Instead of hardcore badasses fighting each other with monsters, we have super feminine gayboys in weird skin tight shorts that fight with cute little digimon ripoffs

And people always say "HURR DURR FUCK OFF GENWUNNER! GEN 1 HAD BAD DESIGNS TOO!" but its not about the concept of the designs, its about the execution.
Even gen 1 pokemon look stupid in his new style

I think it had something to do with the lack of symettry, his old style felt more alive, more genuine.
Now its so clinical, clean and safe.
Nothing can look dangerous, everything needs to be clean and even, the colours need to be solid and clean.

Sure, on a technical level his art has gotten better when it comes to construction, but it isn't as appealing. It looks more generic and boring, it has no personality.
like, why the fuck does nothing look angry or dangerous anymore?
Why did they take away Gravelers shit eating grin, or Dugtrio's "I'm going to kick your ass" eyebrows?

If I say, for example with all gen 5 mons, if the artstyle is the same as Sugimori, then people that hated the designs such as Munna or Klingklang are liking it.

I don't know but Sugimori's old art is way better.

Nidoqueen doesn't even have teeth anymore, just some weird bill thing, and all of her claws are more round. Nidoking looks 100% less intimidating too.

Pokemon don't look like monsters anymore, and its kind of depressing.

Lapras got the same "you're not allowed to kick ass anymore, please give us your teeth and stop looking capable" treatment that Nidoqueen got.

I agree with you so much. Gen 1 Pokemon look terrible in Kens new art style and they look bad in 3D models too. Which is so ironic. I actually like some of the newer Pokemon because they were made with the new art direction in mind. But nothing beats dem watercolours.

Its not just the shading and colours, even if those are big parts of it.

They removed the personality from everything. Nidoking doesn't look like he's going to tear you apart anymore, Lapras looks like it wants to do filthy things to you instead of biting your dick off, Gengar is just kind of a happy ghost instead of looking like he's already fucked you over before you even noticed he's there.

The new pokemon just lack any charm, like they're just sort of there, there is no life to the drawing, regardless of the watercolours.

His new art style just feels cheap and lifeless, even outside of the colours.
Like, if you were to give the new art the old colouring style, it still wouldn't look as good.

I miss the main game too.
Where are the big caves and mazes?

I miss getting lost, and wondering where to go.

I feel like we miss the post game so much now because the main game itself is fucking short and boring and there is nothing to do.
They've replaced actual gameplay with a shitload of non-rivals that waste your time acting like retards and taking you on awkward fucking dates.

Sometimes I can't tell if I'm outgrowing pokemon or if pokemon is outgrowing me and just doesn't need me anymore.
