ORAS news broadcasts confirms Brendan and May are 12.
Now the Pokedex height features mean we know the Gen III and IV protagonists' official heights.
Brendan, May, and Lucas are 145cm
Dawn is 140cm, making her the shortest protagonist
Ethan is 150cm, making him the known tallest boy
Lyra is 152cm, making her the known tallest protagonist
Now an official page on ORAS (
https://www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/ecrj/about/) seems to have made Brendan and May's heights 152cm, the same as Lyra.
From this we can assume Ethan and Lyra are probably 12, and Lucas and Dawn are probably 11.
Now for the Gen V protagonists, there some obscure fan interview in which Masuda said that Hilda, Hilbert, Cheren, and Bianca are supposed to be 14 is BW. They do seem older so that fits. We could assume Rosa and Nate are probably about the same.
Calem and Serena are really unclear. But we can at least say they can't really be much younger than Emma, and Emma says she's 16, so that puts the XY protagonists in their late teens.
