Not my favorite, but I feel this is one of the only non-bird pokemon that deserves Boomburst whilst being thematically appropriate. Maybe Nasty Plot too if it doesn't already have that. Competitive + Specs + STAB + Boomburst is already a nice enough niche.

It has that "old school" feeling and it looks like a monster plus it's simplistic enough so it isn't hated by people who hate over designed Pokemon. That and there is the novelty value in it's swirl going the opposite direction of Poliwhirl. Water/Fighting was a unique type for years until Gen 5.

I'd give it Blizzard and Thunder, plus maybe Hurricane if I was allowed more than two. Flashy moves seem more appropriate for a wizard, y'know? Also I'd make Mystical Fire a dual-type Fire/Psychic move.

I really want to give it Earth Power or even Mud Shot/Bomb, but it just doesn't make any sense. Tail Glow doesn't seem particularly useful, with just 100 base speed and weaknesses to Talonflame and rock.

Its abilities aren't bad, though. Quick Feet's obviously great, as is Intimidate. Rattled allows for some dank memes when using Rage+Beat Up in a Double/Triple Battle.

Pretty much no psychic except Mewtwo gets it, because it's Mewtwo. Before Dazzling Gleam became widely available Focus Blast was the best everyone else got for Darks and Steels.

I was thinking less the tail itself and more the orbs running down the spine to the tail (the Japanese name is something like Firefly Lights, which the seed pods evoke), though the tail has also been depicted as lighting up when charging Solarbeam, so that works too. Nigga just needs a way to boost his SpAtk and this one seems the most thematic.

Ice is one of the absolute best attacking types. Any mono-typed fast attacker would be improved by gaining an Ice type and a move to use with it. The problem with Ice is the stat spreads, not the type itself. Grass is just garbage through and through, the only reason to ever run it is to switch it into Smeargle's Spore, and there are better ways to do that than running a Grass Pokemon anyway.

I like the idea of dual type moves and i can't wait for muddy water to become water ground, but like that example while gaining coverage it adds a type immunity. Honestly sacred fire is currently the only move in delphox's move pool that makes it unique. Fire typing with the ability to suppress fairy calm minds, makes it kinda like an acid spray tentacruel and that's its only viable niche. Allowing dark types to come in and cock block it would just not be good for it.
