It always bothered me that they only updated the sprites of the opposing mon. Are there any romhacks that fix the sprites of your mon? i.e. replacing the shit red/blue ones with gold/silver ones?

there's a hack but it completely replace other sprites as well, such as opposing mon, trainers and shit

it's basically gsc 0.9

no idea, I saw a few screenshots some time ago, but I wouldn't recommend it anyway

also some backsprites from gsc don't really fit in the yellow version, I remember charizard being with his mouth closed in yellow front sprite and with his mouth open in gsc back sprites

Some Red/Blue sprites are GOAT, and even better than Yellow ones. But on the whole, the Yellow front sprites are an improvement.
Never liked the Green sprites

I figured Yellow front sprites plus Gold/Silver back sprites would be good
