Nothing about Snubull/Granbull's design or abilities scream fairy. Horsea and Seadra are both Dragon species but that's not enough to make then Dragon type.
Fairy being synonymous with "weird" is some far reaching.
As far as Wigglytuff go it's no more supernatural than Blissey. It's just an balloon-shaped rabbit in the games.

It's possibly based on Cu Sith the dog equivalent of Cait Sith. Fairy is also the 'girl' type and the Granbull line is actually a 'girl' pokemon like jigglypuff. See its gender ratio, dex entries, and abilities.

With all the things currently called dragons it still makes me wonder why GF gives the typing out to pokémon like Altaria which isn't a dragon by any cultural definition.

Give it a shot if you want but I wouldn't expect a response. He hasn't answered the question about Leaf's name no matter how many times people have asked him, and she seems to be his waifu.

They probably should be, but the Dragon Type wasn't introduced in Gen II when Kingdra was. They've never retconned Pokemon types unless they were introducing a new one. Just a couple moves here and there

That said, I still believe the Dragon type was a late addition into Gen I in an attempt to create the 'ultimate type' and barely had any balance put into it. Explains why there's only one evolutionary line with it and one move that does fixed damage

Bulbapedia only added the Cu Sith part after Granbull was retyped to Fairy, so I don't think it can be traced back to any old interview or so. Before that I think people only thought of it as another weird classification
