>>25234557>win money for playing the game they loveLOL
Unless they live next to the year's venue the cost of transport alone takes them more than the combined value of the all the prizes they could possibly win there. The prizes can't be too generous anyway because otherwise they would quickly attract the kind of cancerous e-surrts gaming crowd TPCi wants to avoid.
>They have plenty of fun So do smogoners? By the way, you do realise the vast majority of NB users are ex-smogoners? Go to their forums, it's all the same jokes, same obnoxious narcisstic attitude, same autism. Majority of "good" players don't even play on the cartridge majority of the time, opting for showdown instead, just like on Smogon.
>are an awesome communityUnless you're a part of their narrow clique - no, not really. Same goes for smogon by the way.
>Smogon players sit at home perving on innocent children in their chatrooms. That argument holds about as much water as saying every VGC player is a bloodthirsty murderer due to that unsuccesful shoot-up attempt last year.
>they take a break from being pedos and play their imaginary metagame they get their asses handed to them and start a campaign to ban the thing that beat their team instead of adaptingThats because the users actually can have a say in the game they're playing. Don't be mistaken, VGC players would ban things left and right if they only had a chance - after all they all come from the same smogoner background. They don't because the POP organised events arent actually supposed to be competitive, they're glorified advertisments meant to create brand loyality among little children (the same one adult VGC players are already suffering from).
In short, if you enjoy being a tool to TPCi's jew tactics, play VGC. If you actually want to experience a competitive meta, play smogon. It's really that simple.
