What are the chances of Delta Emerald actually getting released? I've only played Emerald, Fire Red and i just got Alpha Sapphire so i don't really know a lot about Game Freak's history of game development and decisions.

Also what about Z? Should i wait a bit longer for an official announcement before buying XY?

They haven't released yellow or crystal remakes, so they probably won't release an emerald remake. That being said, a Pokemon Z will come out AT THE EARLIEST late this year, so i would just go ahead and get oras (xy is shit btw)

What the fuck makes you think they're going to make a Delta Emerald? Because of a fucking trademark? Game Freak trademarks names a lot of times and never uses them. They just do it to cover their bases and let the trademarks expire.

I'd put more hope into Hoenn appearing in Z with the Frontier and other locations. Seems like a better result and they don't have anything to tease a standalone Delta Emerald for.

Don't get XY or ORAS, I'm positive Z is going to happen, and if it doesn't it's not like you really missed much with XY.

Emerald had no versus seeker. It was match call which worked like the phone system from Crystal. You had rematches but no control over them.

Not even that guy but the Vs. Seeker makes grinding better because you get money and more experience from trainers than wild Pokemon. It was the one feature that should never have been dropped

Safari Zone's were interesting breaks from the main game. Without that, they're just another route.

The safari zone was bullshit because nothing of value can ever be fucking caught from them. Look at HG/SS' safari zone. It was a gimmicky mess that never even worked, and I bet the backlash of that was what led GF to remove safari zones all together because nobody liked them. Also look at >>25237380 about your Vs. Seeker whining. Plus the Areanav works just as well as the Vs. Seeker did in the other games.

Using the averages (and ignoring the obvious trend of increasing gaps between originals and remakes), you'd expect D/P remakes in early 2018.

Following the normal gap between originals and "improved" (e.g. R/B to Yellow gap, G/S to Crystal gap, etc), I'd have expected Z to be late last year.

Using the average gap between generations, I'd expect the Gen 7 games to come out late next year.

But all of this is based on averages and software development doesn't work like that. Just my guesses though.
