You can turn effects off in every pokemon game...but that doesn't interrupt the gameplay, since it's turn-based.

There's a common mistake between edge and cool

Edge is when something has shit tossed in that isnt followed through with to capture an older audience or give young ones the impression that they are older, usually followed with something flashy for the "darkness" bullshit.

Cool is when universally something is recognized as popular from all audiences perspective and has actual substance to it.
