What if Magearna is related to Diancie in the same way Mewtwo is related to Mew?

The resemblance is quite clear, maybe Magearna is a Diancie modified by people using some kind of machinery.

It'd be more science than anything since Diancie is a mutation, but why Carbink if that was the case?

I'd say it's more likely that a Carbink in the past was caught by Magearna and it caused some chromosome mutation and gave us Diancie.

The Pokedex says Daincie is a mutation of Carbink so its possible there are more than just one Diancie. I think Magearna is created after Daincie not the opposite way (still just a theory of course)

Mewtwo and Mew
Manaphy and Phione
Regigigas and other three Regis
Maybe now its Magearna and Diancie?

Diancie was formed by Crystallization Mutation of a Carbink.

Magearna was created by Human, 500 years ago.

They share no known Realtion, unless you count Mew.

Remember when people were speculating that Mega Mewtwo Y was the Pokémon that was turned into Genesect? (This was before the concept of mega evolution had been revealed.)
I'm still disappointed that didn't end up being the case.

If Diancie is raw ore and mineral then Magearna would be processed and refined for them to build a pokeball.
What if the designers thought that Diancie materials worked best to create a device to capture Pokemon? And after they did it they made Magearna but ended up finding easier/better ways later on?

It's complicated.

Mew is an archetypal existence that encompasses everything a Pokemon can be, even man-made ones. It's like how real technology looks "unnatural", but it still runs on the exact same laws of physics as trees and dirt.

Only Arceus' puppet body came after and is based on Mew. The real 1000 armed one is an incomprehensible entity beyond matter and spirit that can't be called a Pokemon.
