I got some while buying cards two days ago. Nice guy asked me if I had more than one game and so he gave me 3 isntead of just 1.

I've now got about 6 codes unused, I'll just wait and sell them online later.

Also why are people complaining about code events? They're stupidly easy to get, it's not like actual events that only ever happen in 1 american city and 2-3 japanese cities.

Plus it's not like you can't just trade for them if you're REALLY that lazy or live in a barn in the middle of nowhere. Stop justifying your cheating with the idea that you're owed a Pokemon that's actually supposed to be rare.

Think youre honestly overestimating the value like most novice scalpers. I can see a few people buying them after the stores discontinue the giveaway. But I see them only paying 3-5 bucks a pop since I doubt people who are that desperate for these codes will just obtain it by other means instead of pay for a higher price. Nice try with a cheap way to make a small profit but in this case you're just putting codes to wastes.

I just checked and they go for $5 minimum right now. Even sticking to that price I'd get $50 from what I already have, and I'm fairly confident I can sell them for $7 atleast.

I'm not saying I'm going to be a millionaire anytime soon, but I'll make a descent amount of money for probably an hour total (including veering in and out of stores, and listing them on eBay)

For example, people that go to certain Pokemon TCG events are given promo cards for free. These cards are never sold, only given for free.

Is it wrong to then sell that card a few months later? No, of course not.

this is exactly why distributions should be online only, there will always be an asshole who stocks up loads of codes until the store runs out of them, and many people don't get the chance to have one, and are forced to buy it online just because some shitty kid is too lazy to do some actual work to make some money

If all events were Wi-Fi they would be worthless. If you really want to go a route where people can't sell codes, then do it like they used to do, with Nintendo Zones and distribution carts. I'm not saying remove all Wi-Fi events, but having all events be Wi-Fi only is dumb and ruins the "event" of them.

Except I checked multiple eBay listings, all have sold most of their codes. Why is it so hard to believe that people will pay a tiny $5 for an event that's about to end? I'm not selling them for stupidly high prices.
