So you know how GameFreak doesn't like to change canon, which is why we have 20 different incense now?

That's never squared with changing types to me. "Clefairy wasn't weak to Poison for 20 years but now is, still won't make Nidoran one species though! "

I think the reason they ended up not doing this is because Grass wouldn't be super effective. Though, I suppose, they could have just not made Steel resist Grass.

There's a difference between changing a type and deleting pokemon out of existence (not to mention changing pokedex numbers for 700 pokemon).
