Artificially increasing difficulty by handicapping yourself dosent make the game fun. It means the games are shit. And to easy. Becuase you know... They are for babies.

Nah, it's fun. My first nuzlocke was Crystal, ended up losing to Jasmine
Vagooface the Butterfree, level 38. Never forget. It was the most memorable pokemon I had since I was a kid.

Sometimes you lose, completely. The games as are do not allow for that t possibility, but setting your own rules can. I've beat Crystal dozens of times with dozens of teams, but that one loss is more memorable than any except the first win.

You can easily grind and overlevel with or without the handicaps. The solution is to, get this, challenge trainers and gym leaders around the level GF balanced them instead of grinding because you might not be able to sweep effortlessly.

You must think the original NES games were great other than being an excuse to artificially lengthen the game by making it excessively hard. (or were derived from arcade games, which did the same thing, but only to force more quarters out of you. Either way, it's a stupid game design and there's a reason it died)

Well, the only difference there from what I know is that freemium games aren't really hard, they're just tedious, making it impossible to do something in a timely manner without buying to get past it. It does still artificially lengthen the game, just with a brick wall that doesn't really exist.
