>>25289638Digimon isn't as big as it used to be and it was never considered as a direct competitor to Pokemon inspite of the similarities in concept of monsters and themes it had. The games have always been stale until the recent release of Cyber Slueth changed that. Because Digimon is no longer the big franchise it was, it can afford to mature up a bit and cater to its long time older fans, unlike Pokemon, which is still a big franchise, the latest iterations to sell like hotcakes inspite of how similiar they have become to one another because well the formula works.
Digimon overall has better story-telling, and characterization than Pokemon, especially the anime, where Tai actually grows up unlike Ash who is still 10 but Pokemon has the better gameplay than Digimon, where it truly matters the most in the gaming world. Hence why every iteration of Pokemon has succeeded where Digimon couldn't and while Cyber Slueth is no doubt good, better in my opinion than 3DS Saphire/Ruby, its going to lesser anyway because Nintendo has that brand polarity with Pokemon that most game series can't hope to compete with except COD and GTA. Nintendo heavily relies on nostalgia to get people back to the franchises they love as evidenced by their celebration of Pokemon "25 anniversary" by re-releasing the Pokemon Blue/Red/Yellow on the 3DS platform.
