That actually has value unlike something you can grind with fishing or running through tall grass.
Bred shinies are almost just as good as legendaries because you're only encountering 5 over the course of a half hour with the same or half odds depending on where you get your stock.
Plus when you do get a shiny it will have anywhere from 3-5 perfect IVs and arguably could be used for real battle
