>>25300854>in the anime right nowAsh's team is Greninja, Pikachu and 3 flying types. Clemont has Chespin and Bunnelby for some reason. Serena has Panchaam for seemingly no good reason. That girl who follows Alan has Chespin As her starter for whatever reason and in the diancie movie the character wih Chesnaught is a smart lookig girl despite the fact that her dad was more fitting snd the other two thieves fit in design with Greninja and Delphox.
>gen 5 animeStephan is the look im strong and manly dude yet his team consist of a liepard, a sawk, and a zebstrika. To make matters worse his "rival" who is a total fuckboy, uses a throh. Bianca for whatever reason has Emboar as her starter, the excuse is that shes a barafag even though it would make a lot more sense for Stephan to have Emboar and Bianca to just lust after him. Ash's rival has A serperior despite it not really fitting him all that much.
>gen 2 animeAsh evolves his Chikorita out of all the johto starters. Other than that this gen and the others before 5 were pretty inoffensive when it came to his team build.
>gen 3 gym leadersRoxannes ace is a nosepass, Brawly's ace is a makuhita even though he's pretty much a surfer dude, Wattsons ace is a manectric, flannerys is a toarkoal. archie's ace is a Sharpedo while Maxie's is a camerupt. While I guess you could argue that sharpedos design fits archie, do his stats reflect archies design? And maxie who is all about being smart, has a pokemon that is pretty unfitting other than being a fire type. Theres also the fact that archie goes for Kyogre while Maxie goes for Groudon, which also feels like a role reversal play.
>gen 4Wake and his floatzel which was already mentioned. Then theres Volkner and Flint. Volkner in particular is jarring to me because his ace was changed from Luxray to Electivire, and it fees pretty unfitting.
I could go on. Theres actually quite a few examples you could go for in gen 5, though that one is largely inoffensive.
