I would imagine it would look awkward trying to use it. The buttons and stick are at the top, so its like you're holding the thing from the top half of it with the big bottom half just pulling weight down.

If they weren't there no one would have played the games as much and they would have simply faded because of the lack of content.

You don't just simply remove the aspect that kept the game going for the majority of the people who played it you know.

Yes especially since the item duplication glitch was the only way of getting your pokemon to level 100 without grinding your ass off on the Elite 4.
Plus Kanto is boring as fuck without them.

I meant that it would be good for Gamefreak to remind the nostalgiafags what the games are really about, so that they get interested in newer versions. Having super easy-mode glitch games is worthless in that regard.

Plus there are non-fun glitches that needed fixing, like the ghost/psychic issue etc.

Yes. After the migration I had to redownload the games from the Eshop but I guess when you re download it counts them as a pre-order instead of a reinstall which is retarded. Same with locking a 20 year old game. Oh well back to Dragon's Dogma no Pokemon for me tonight.

the New 3ds has the games, but the system transfer deletes everything on the console receiving the games (i.e. Pokemon Red and Blue). He can't go to the e-shop to redownload because the e-shop won't let him redownload until the 27th, when the games are officially released

This. that anon is lying, even if you do the system transfer, pre installed games are kept to the default console, they are not stored on eshop. If the game is a code it's on eshop and can and will be transferred.

Game Boy games without GBC games, when played on the GBC, could do the color thing. International Yellow and Gen 2 have GBC features so they couldn't, but Red, Green Blue, and JP Yellow (the color features were only added in the international release) could.

That being said, none of the VC games can do that. Even some VC releases with color features like Wario Land 2 are stuck in monochrome with no way to change the palette besides gray or green.

It's funny because the homebrew GB emulator I have on my 3DS changes palettes just fine.

It's gray monochrome. If you have a homebrew emulator there's a ROMhack of Red that adds color to everything (and has a second hack that can be mixed in that replaces all the sprites with Gen 2 equivalents when able), but you can't use the trading features with the people who own the VC version of Red.

Literally just playing FR two days ago. But theres a massive fucking difference between R/G/B/Y and FR/LG. Not to mention I would lean towards yellow as it is entirely unique of the 6 games, and it still has several of the same bugs (like the ghost/psychic thing IIRC)

It just would have been nice to have something separate the VC version from emulated or cartridge versions.

I started with one because I didn't care for 3d traded it in for the new 3ds xl and haven't looked back its not uncomfortable especially with the little grip I had that changed the shoulder buttons to triggers I liked it but it still felt a little off

I'm the guy getting it and yes I'm aware of all of these things and I don't care. I already own 5 3DS/2DS and Pokemon Green is my favorite BECAUSE the sprites look the worst and it's so glitchy. it's pretty old I would imagine. I did a system transfer at start up and asked me to update to the latest patch first, but if the time and date settings are any indication, they asked me to enter a date and the default was 01/01/2015
