Reshiram/Kyurem-W have red flames and Zekrom/Kyurem-B have blue electricity.
At least it counts for something.

In Black 1 and White 1 it's their eyes that make those games blue and red

Black and White didn't break the pattern. Zekrom has blue, electric tail, Reshiram has red, fire tail (also Yin and Yang are opposites, Yang -> white, warm
Yin -> black, cold

Same for BW2

The clever thing is Black 2 and White 2 swap the legendaries, but also swap the aspects of them that are red and blue, so Black 2 is still blue and White 2 is still red.
