Although B2/W2 did very well and was quite fun, it seems quite silly to me to be a sequel to x/y and not call it X2/Y2.
So really, only new gen or a completely new genre.
However, there is already a sun and moon pokemon and while I know that many elements of pokemon are rehashed into newer ones, I find it hard to believe that they could or would be able to rehash a pokemon that already looks like the sun and moon.
So I'm guesing it's either a new gen which would be very strange or a new type of game different from anything we've seen before.
Pokemon has gone in new directions before and it's becoming more common as of late with Smash, Mystery Dungeon, that walking thing for the phones, and Pokken. This could be something like dynasty warriors or tetris or pokemon date sim. Who knows. Sky is the limit for these people since everyone eats pokemon right the fuck up.
