There's a lot of speculation going on without much of a basis. For every idea that is provided, come the voices, opinions, and actual facts of a hundred nay-sayers.

There's a chance that whatever is released in 7 hours won't be related to Sun/Moon. We can't really base our thoughts on past releases, because it's been stated that they are specifically attempting to do things that we won't expect.

We can't argue over whether any new pokemon would be considered "6.5 or 7th Generation", because the Pokemon team has stated in the past that "Generations" are partly a device of the fan community, and that they strive to make a fluid connection to each group of Pokemon by shoehorning them into the world in the way they find most natural, each time a game is released.
