>>25326858It's gen1. Not much. Gen1 was really a rollercoaster of useful pokemon. We got the likes of Gengar, Snorlax, Chansey, Dragonite, Alakazam, Machamp, Slowbro, Starmie, Nidoking, Tentacruel, Gyrados and Clefable out of Gen1, but we also pulled Seaking, Jynx, Flareon, Arbok, Dewgong, Rapidash, Sandslash, Arcanine, Parasect, Farfetch'd, Persian and Mr. Mime. I tried not to name pokemon with decent niches, the common early shitmons or NFE, but most of the pokemon I listed in the second batch were outperformed then and now even inside of their niche. They'll probably never again see the light of day, since without proper evolutions I doubt even a mega-evolution or a major ability could fix how absolutely terribly their base stats cripple most of them.
About a third of the pokemon from the first list were water type. Bulky waters are good now and back then there were maybe three good electrical attacks and not nearly enough Pokemon that learned them made them matter since their stats were ass. Grass was bad but manages to be less bad now.
