I was thinking this. The story is permanight or day with lots of things (events, npcs, etc.) dependent on the day/night cycle. Post-E4 it goes back to a normal cycle with most of the other version's stuff becoming accessible, except the outright version exclusive mons of course.

I was saying this when Gen 4 was new. They had their chance. At this point you just have to hope the team is at least decent. The last team I liked was Plasma. Galactic and Flare were really boring.

I wasn't a fan of their bowl cut look and motif. Granted I wasn't too crazy about Aqua and Magma either but having two teams and the part when Groudon/Kyogre fucked shit up made them alright. The only thing I liked about Galactic was Cyrus in particular and the Distortion World in Platinum. Maybe I'll like them more when we revisit Sinnoh. My tolerance for the team thing has expanded. Although Flare really renewed my desire for GF to not showhorn all their villains into quasi-terrorist groups. At least give us another explicit gang like Rocket.

Also keep in mind Aqua and Magma were going to get rid of the land or evaporate the ocean respectively, Galactic was literally fucking with spacetime, and Ghetsis was trying to get rid of pokemon from his opposition so he could take over the world. Genocide feels like a common pokemon villian motive
