There is a scene in the classic holiday film A Christmas Story, in which the main protagonist Ralphy uses a secret decoder ring to decypher a code given to him by his favorite radio program.

For weeks, he waits for the decoder ring in the mail, and when it finally arrives, he waits by the radio, until the moment of truth. He writes down the code then dashes off to the bathroom for some privacy to use his decoder ring, and unlock the secret message given by the announcer.

Carefully, he begins working at the code, turning the dial on the ring when suddenly, the sanctuary of the restroom is broken by the loud banging of his mother and sibling. Frantically, he pieces together the last of the code. He has revealed that which he's waited so long to know, the secret that shall be unveiled by his dear friends at Nintendo:

"Make sure to buy Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow for the Virtual Console!"
