>>25333766Ya know, the way that they phrase it "A new world" makes me wonder if this won't be a sort of soft reboot for the series. XY and ORAS got a lot of shit for how terrible the animations were, how easy mode it all was and all the other fuck ups, then this comes along, sweeping aside the third version tradition (possibly because XY has been so panned?) and some of that artwork looks just different enough to make me think it might be a fresh take. The Blastoise in one of the artworks has longer arms than usual, there's a Machamp that looks a bit huskier, etc. It's not much to go on, but I'd be okay with them revamping a few of the older designs that came out looking a bit stubby/dated just to make them look a bit nicer and plunking us down in a new alternate world to give it a brand new feeling. We don't know anything, so they may have even adjusted gameplay a bit. They've spent long enough working on it in secret that hopefully it won't be the letdown that was XY.
>>25333865XY looked and felt like a beta test to me. The characters, story and animations all felt super stiff, the colors were all washed out, there was zero effort put into making you care about the characters (Seriously, you have four people following you around and instead of surprising you with who you fight each time they just got lazy and stuck a few extra fights at the end of the game), and the region felt small as hell, and I don't care what anyone else says. It was lazy and phoned in. They spent too long figuring out 3D and couldn't do anything else well. This time they've got it down hopefully. If so we might just be witnessing the dawn of a new age of awesome for pokemon.
