Personally I think this is still Kalos and some additional areas like we got in BW2. Why would they just leave everything like that and move on when there is no valid point to do so? XY werent the best, sure, but they made much money and reusing Kalos assets now makes everything much more easier. Something would have to happen for them to abandon Kalos completely, which is not true in my opinion.
