Yep. You can trade by storing your shit in the Bank and then using a different game, so buying multiple/all of them does have its advantages. I wouldn't bother with Yellow if you're going to buy Red and Blue though.

I'm 21 I just hate games where I can't run. The reason I don't play Gen 1 or 2 is because there's no run button.

And there's absolutely no reason why they shouldn't fix glitches like that. They can add the ability to transfer Pokemon from gen 1 to gen 7 but can't fix one line of code?

all of the diagrams and the Pokemon site only mention trading from RBY to moon/sun. I haven't seen any confirmation you can trade between RBY. unless I missed it?

Could have sworn they confirmed that the RGBY had wireless trade functionality added. Would be dumb if not cause there are Pokemon you need to trade to get.
But I guess there were NPCs with some of them, maybe all? I dunno I haven't played Gen1 since 2003 at the absolute latest.

I never used the bank so I have no clue, but if you can get them there from rgby, shouldn't you be able to retrieve them from any other game on your 3ds? Or something forbids it?

I grew up with Red but my cartridge battery is dead now, are there any cool movelist you can make in the originals that isn't in Yellow? Or is Yellow pretty much better in every conceivable way?

The only thing I've seen inhibit a trade is restricted items and pokebank removes items anyway.
Given that Gen1 is missing things present in other Pokemon games is say it probably works like this:
Gen1 mons > pokebank have the missing values generated when moved into the bank
Pokebank Pokemon > Gen1 is blocked because these new values aren't present in Gen1 so they don't recognize the Pokemon
I'll test it later today when I take home my 3DS loaded with Red and Blue.

What might happen is that the RBY remakes might use the Poke Transfer, which is the addon for the Pokemon Bank that let you bring your stuff from Gen 5 forwards to Gen 6. Poke Transfer is one way; they might make it add on the values that didn't get introduced until Gen 3, like the IV for Special Defense, which would keep you from transferring them back to RBY

Trading wasn't a benefit, it was an advantage over the emulators, but because gen 1 and 2 mons can't transfer to gen 3 and therefor can't be brought into the current games (until now with the VC) emulation was just as good, and free, and you and your friends didn't have to hunt down you game boys and old games or God forbid buy one online and possibly have to replace the save battery. Emulation was better, safer, and cheaper. Until now. Though it's still cheaper.

All that implies is that even if you can transfer back from Pokemon bank that it doesn't treat it as a trade. Like Pokemon bank doesn't do on any other game.

I was a retarded kid and had a hard time getting past brock because I didn't realize I should just go get a mankey, nidoran or even butterfree.

I know Chansey can learn Seismic Toss or Thuner Wave in RB, where as Charizard can learn Fly

I want to be able to have my Gen 1 pokemon have Waterfall in Gen 1 games

It was actually possible - Waterfall was a move that only Goldeen/Seaking had in Gen 1, so if you traded something like a Gyarados that knew Waterfall in Gen 2 over to Gen 1, it'd still work but would confuse most people because who the fuck ever used Goldeen/Seaking?

Waterfall was the signature move of Seaking I believe. Only he learned it

Fun fact: Raticate's signature move Hyper Fang would always do damage equal to 50% of the opponents HP, no matter the type or defense

I thought Gyarados got waterfall as well. Raticate gets both Hyper and Super Fangs, but superfang is the half of current health one, I think hyper fang only had a high crit chance, if it did anything.

I will get Blue and Yellow for my new 3DS XL but Red I will purchase on my (old) 3DS XL. So I will be able to trade whenever I want and get my Gengar. I suggest you to do the same if you have to devices like me or no friends who aren't interested in pokemon (like me ;_;).

Actuallymy two best friends one both a new 3DS with Pokemon, Monster Hunter, Sm4sh and other cool games. But these folks only play Pokemon casually and never finished their copy of alpha sapphire/omega ruby. I know in Cerulean, ifs possible to get two Mews. I think 3 Mews in total are obtainable

There's a RBY event for it, too. You go to a Pokemon Center in-game and talk to a lady who trades you Mew for whichever mon is at the top of your team. It just hasn't started here yet
