No it's not. I know this for a fact without even needing to check because I know TPC doesn't use the terms "gen 1, 2, 3, IV, V...". Only the fans use those terms.

Also the announcement went through the main games and the years they were released before revealing Sun and Moon. You'd have to be retarded to think this is still Gen VI.

It's pretty simple.
If it introduces new starters and a new region, it's Generation 7.
If it doesn't introduce new starters, or if it doesn't introduce a new region, it's still Generation 6.

They did that to show the progression of Pokemon as a whole. If this was gen 7, they should have revealed the new starters then like they did with X&Y.

You're all wrong. it's neither.

Nintendo got smart and realized what Monster hunter did with MHX and decided to copy in suit.

Its going to be a conglomorate game of all gens in one piecemeal region featuing big things from each game. and tons of paid DLC for Gen pandering, characters, locations and more.

Yeah, ok. I don't care how much unreleased shit there is. They wouldn't bother going through every year that a new gen was released before announcing the new games if they were just gonna keep it in the current gen. If they were showing the progression of the franchise as a whole they would've included other games, not just the core ones.

I'm fucking nauseous. I stayed up all night because how worried I was. Sun and Moon is our last shot to prove that the Kalos is a worthwhile region. If Sun/Moon is gen 7.. then it's fucking over, Kalos bros..

I want this to get a 98 on Metacritic. I want this to FORCE Gen 6 haters to buy a N3DS. I want them to cry as they're forced to withdraw money to play this game.

But it might not do well. It might actually be a new generation, and not be casualized as fuck for the normies. Even worse, they might add in any post game content unlike the last generation 6 games. We've fucking lost, Kalos bros...

How do I calm down? How do I ease myself and face the inevitable fact that Gen 6 is a blunder?

But gen 6 wasn't a blunder. The graphical innovations were a massive step-up from the previous gen, it had a great story, fun gameplay, and introduced wondertrading. Was it the best gen? Probably not, but in a decade or so, I'm sure I'll be nostalgic for it.

"Generation" in the way we describe them is a fan term. As long as the game is being produced as has new content they can call it a generation and still technically be correct.

Only thing that I have hesitations about is all the unreleased forms, Magearna, and Volcanion. While Volcanion and Zygarde are still technically gen 6, the games they are involved in could be Gen VII.

Maybe it will be Gen VII (New region, new pokemon etc.) but echo what Gen II did. New region connected to another region (S. Kalos/Spain and N. Kalos).

So with that in mind, Gen VII is Gen 6.5 like Gen II was Gen 1.5.
