Well, we're definitely still IN gen VI. The real question is which generation the new games are going to be in.
My issue here is that a new generation describes new Pokemon, new protagonists, and a new region.
Well in Gen V we got new protagonists Midway through
In Gen VI we got new Pokemon Midway through (megas)
So now I'm really confused as to what a "generation" really is. I mean, honestly if we make any main series, non remake, non sequel game a new generation, then this one is a new gen.
Honestly idk what the big debate is about. We're in a new region with new Pokemon and almost certainly have different, if not new, protags. This is a new generation any way you look at it, even if the story continues off of Gen VI.
