I don't understand why some people still want a third version, isn't that what people HATED before? Getting a third version that just made the other games pointless and inferior and they would just "wait for the third"?

Why are you not happy about a new game and world to explore?

Because the third game fixes most of the major flaws of its predecessors. The people (and me too) wanted to give Gen 6 a chance to redeem itself after the disappointment that was XY and ORAS.

It's really not that hard to understand.

Game Freak are disappointingly terrible programmers that aren't capable of doing anything right and as long as TPCi exists, Game Freak will be allowed to half-ass their games with Nintendo being unable to whip them into shape for eons to come

It's definitely not okay, and it's a really shitty business practice.
The point is that they can either make the original pair up to standard in the first place (Which is obviously what everyone would prefer), or they can release a third version that fixes the problems afterwards. Here, they've done neither, so we're left with XY being suboptimal games to begin with and nothing coming along to fix their problems, which sucks dick and is understandably going to leave a lot of people with a distaste for Gen VI/

They could've just as well have made Z the sequel in itself to X and Y just like BW2, what with Perfect Zygarde rising to restore order to the ecosystem that Xerneas and Yveltal mess up with excessive amounts of life and death respectively.

Just don't give them the business in the first place, don't COMPLAIN that they aren't milking you full price you by releasing gratuitous improved versions.
