You can transfer RBY pokemon to the Bank, and that means you can get a practically infinite amount of Gen 1 mons at Lvl. 100 due to Rare Candy Glitch and, if you need to, Mew Glitch.

Of course, Yellow doesn't have Rare Candy Glitch.

And before you say that the mew glitch is illegal, the Gamestop Mews are the ones you'd get from a Lvl 100 Mew Glitch, in that they're Lvl. 100 and still only know Pound.

Wrong.
The Level 1 Mew Glitch works by getting a Level 1 Mew and giving it experience, but not enough to level up.
The Mew will instantly level to 100, gaining no EVs except the mon you just battled and no moves, but all the stat boosts of a Mew caught fresh at Level 100.

The consequence was that the Mew would only have Pound, as that's what it would know at Level 1.

RBY, by your own definition, are examples of the series at its peak. Why wouldn't that be worth paying for?

But given the enormous availability of the games online the value of it driven down. These are retro 20 year old games, rehashing it then selling it for $10 is fucking stupid. We're already paying yearly for Pokemon Bank, how much money has Nintendo made off of it for the past 3 years it's been out. We're probably going to be paying for ingame purchases in pokemon go...Just make them free?

Honestly, I think nostalgia is running on its last leg. They hit it hard with X&Y, and even ORAS put a few miles on the N-factor. I see the pokebank RBY feature as a cool idea, but I dont think it will effect the game in ANY way other than it being possible.
