Pikachu sucks ass, it doesn't even have Light Ball until I transfer it. Do they really want me to use this little shit without evolving it for the whole game? It even gets mad at me if I don't use it.

Doesn't it have boosted stats in yellow anyway? Always assumed it did. CN you get it with Fly/Surf? That way favourite thing about it in yellow, I spent forever on the surfing mini game. Is it in the vc release?

isn't his base stats and IV boosted in yellow or some shit? I remember it was suppose to be stronger than the standard ones in the other two games.

Mankey was the only thing around that had a shot against Brock's onix. Had a nidoran too but I dumped him off for Squirtle later on.

No, it's a regular Pikachu stat-wise.
However, it does have a way better level-up moveset in Yellow.

It doesn't "learn" Surf. You could only get a surfing Pikachu from Pokemon Stadium, where it was given to you already knowing it.

Actually, I had to look this up because I remembered incorrectly. It does learn Surf. You had to use a GB game Pikachu in Stadium, and then you got the opportunity to teach it Surf. Doing this with the Yellow Pikachu and transferring it back is what let you do the minigame.

I did it back then. I'm sure you can do it now. Beating Giovanni's Rydon was too much effort, though. I wouldn't go through that again.
