How do you faggots into the Living Pokedex?

Do you do a true living dex where you have EVERY SINGLE SPECIES (including mid-evolutions), or do you just do final evolutions only (i.e. Venusaur-Charizard-Blastoise-Butterfree-etc.)?

I've tried to do the former TWICE but each time I give up because of how much work it is.

Yup. Makes completely the pokedex in each new game a breeze, especially with the bank now. I don't think I really bothered Platinum, though. And even by then I'd been able to build up a good amount just from all the leftovers from Gen 3 and Diamond and Pearl.

Just set a goal to do a few per day. Makes it much more manageable than trying to do a ton at a time. I myself am stuck on Gen 5 because of all the damn three stage evolutions. They suck.

I blitzed through the first half in a few days, then did like 20 a session spread over a few months as and when I wanted to kill time.

Transferring caught wild mon is easier than training is my top tip.

ORAS should make it easy too. Wish I'd waited

Not that much effort really. Most Pokemon I couldn't catch I could trade for with Milotic, and levelling is easy with Blissey Secret Bases.

Took me 5 years starting in Platinum, finishing in Black 2. Every new generation I expand the dex even more.

I do one per gen, have done them since gen iv then retroactively went back and did i and iii. I do every single pokemon with an extra space for forms, which I'm more lax on.

Hardest games to do it on are RBY and GSC. RSELG you have multiple exp shares, secret bases, and vs seeker to make it easier. DPtHgSs had much higher exp trainers, magma armor egg hatching available plus stuff from iii (save secret bases) so it wasn't too tough. BW were not bad due to the free lucky eggs, but not being able to catch 1/4 of the dex in the gen made it all the more difficult. XYORAS was obviously the easiest, even though there's more pokemon. Exp share plus Pokemonamie exp bonus plus lucky egg, oval charm for breeding ease, and a minimum 453 available in game even without friend safari, some 621 available with it, took me a few weeks. Worst part was waiting for US pokebank, but I was able to GTS most of the unavailables from Japanese players.

All in all pretty rewarding once you look at your box and every space is filed

It's probably the most autistic thing I do. Every single Pokemon with a different visual appearance gets a spot. Basically everything that gets its own page in the Pokedex forms. Even slight gender differences. I can even feel the coveted shiny dex calling to me, as stupid an endeavor as that would be.

I was pretty annoyed with Xerneas's lights turning off out of battle and the different Kyurem forms being mutually exclusive at the same time.

Every single of them.
Breed lots of Dragonites and trade them for the legendaries you need in GTS.
Inject or beg for the event ones in forums or Reddit.

When i first played i onky went with end evo's but then with RSE i decided to get a complete dex. Its why i love pokebank so much, i spent days just trading onto and off my emerald so i could get all the other gen starters.

I have a complete living dex on Bank. All Pokémon, all formes, like Unown and Vivillon, except for Spinda obviously, and I'm thinking of adding gender differences too in the future.
Currently I mainly have male Pokémon in my dex so complement my female HA breeding dex.

Living pokedex is the only way to play. One thing that really surprised me is how easy it is to trade if you have anything remotely rare. Breedables like Spiritomb or Feebas can easily net you common legendaries. Don't search for trades. Just put your own up.
