A cosmic ash tree, Yggdrasil, lies at the center of the Norse cosmos.
Creatures live within Yggdrasil, including the wyrm (dragon) Níðhöggr, an unnamed eagle, and the stags Dáinn, Dvalinn, Duneyrr and Duraþrór.

In the beginning, there were two regions: Muspellsheim in the south, full of fire, light and heat; and Niflheim in the north, full of arctic waters, mists, and cold.
>North Kalos has many places where it is cold and snowing. There are also many areas surrounded by water and even an ice cave.
>The new region (Southern Kalos) has been depicted as being a sunny/tropical resort area. Kiloude City is located in in Souther Kalos and shares this design. (Kiloude City occasionally has sunny weather also)
Between these two realms of cold and heat, creation began when its waters mixed with the heat of Muspelheim to form a "creating steam".
>Volcanion is the only 6th gen pokemon not released yet and it is based on steam.
>It will be located in the mountain range that splits north and south Kalos.
>In the southern part of the Kalos region, there seems to be a custom to revere Volcanion as a nation-building Pokémon. People seem to believe that a steam explosion caused by Volcanion created the plain where they live.
