Just realized Seaking is designed to look like it has a gross bowl haircut. . .Ugh, does this Pokémon have ANY redeeming qualities? Any at all?

Naw it's not a koi, it's probably meant to be one of the less gold-lookinf species of goldfish, keeping in line with Goldeen.

Either way I totally disagree about the patterns not intentionally looking like hair. It's definitely intended to, and they even gave it marks under its eyes like it hasn't been getting its beauty sleep. For whatever reason, they intentionally tried to make this pokémon ugly. I'm sure of it.

Hmm, I'm not convinced of the hair thing.

I mean the JP name suggests it's supposed to be a demon king though, which would explain the dark marks under its eyes.

You could say the same about the word 'king' in general for english speaking languages. Doesn't change the fact it's still used seriously at times like say, with every Dragon Quest final boss.

It was, under its pre-evolved form, the first shiny Pokémon I encountered in the wild (so no Safaris and events like Gyarados or Haxorus). I've been playing since Red and only met this guy in X, so I kind of have a sweet spot for Seaking.
