The episode in the anime where Ash sends Bulbasaur to Oak's lab to help Oak with some feuding pokemon, and then he ends up having this huge boulder almost fall on him. And the way the goddamn show does it, they show the boulder about to fall, it cuts to black and white, and a goddamn Bye Bye Butterfree esqued montage of Bulbasuar's time with Ash plays, and to a fucking ten year old, it seems like Bulbasaur just fucking died. And you gotta understand, Bulbasaur was, and is, my favorite Pokemon. So I was fucking stunned. I didn't bawl, but it seriously affected me. I teared up a bit. Then it cut to goddamn commercial, during which I had a goddamn existential crisis about my own mortality, again, at ten years old, before it came back and "Oh, Bulbasaur suddenly learned a move it was never able to learn before and escaped!"
That's the day I realized the anime was bullshit.
