I lost my SS years ago and it's a massive regret since I learned these are the most expensive games (at least post Gen 4) online and every store I go to and ask for HGSS they look at me like I'm a lost cause

I had to commit betrayal and emulate LeafGrean on a PSP but Kanto was the only region I have left to play right now, so I just went with it. (Well, outside Kanto in HGSS.) Hopefully I like it.

My Crystal and Sapphire dont work anymore unfortunately.

I do wonder what makes them the most expensive. Seeing these prices are what has convinced me they are the most loved pokemon games. Or at least pretty high up there. Stinks because now I have every region besides Johto. I'm probably gonna get an Alola game before I get a Johto game.

I bought a new DS for BW, and a 3DS for XY.

Good news is most of the ones your missing are cheap and easy to come by. RBY go for 15, GSC for 10 if the battery is dead. Any GBA games you're lucky if you can get for 20, 25 isn't terrible. HGSS are rare and expensive, cheapest I've seen is 36, but DPP are around 25. Any gen 5 games go from 30-35, and gen vi are around 25-35 depending where you're looking.
