Just make em all 50/50. Otherwise you're basically just putting human gender characteristics onto non-human things, which is dumb. No one thinks butterflies are all chicks, even though they embody more feminine characteristics than masculine.

Jokes on you, because Acraea Encodon has some females that are infected by a bacterium and only produce female offspring
In some populations there were 95% of all the butterflies female

It doesn't make sense how species like Hitmons can exist. They can't all be breeding with Ditto.

Torchic is feminine looking and sounding. A girl in my middle school loved Combusksen, so I associate it with her and Blaizken has long hair and reminds me of Elemental Hero Burstinatrix.

I admit that it's mega evo is more masculine, and it's voice in the anime always sounds like a dude, but I can't bring myself to use a male Blaziken. She'll always be a girl to me.

Servine is also a girl. Snivy definitely isn't, and Serperior can go either way. But to me, the three definite girl starters are Meganium, Blaziken and Delphox.

the mechanics of pokemon breeding either need to change to make this a non-issue, or these species of pokemon need female counterparts that can breed male offspring, like Volbeat and Illumise.

it won't stop hurting my brain whenever I think about how illogical it all is.

Braixen and Delphox should just be a separate pokemon from Fennekin and retcon Fennekin to have different evolved forms that are more gender-neutral (and stay on four legs, or at least be able to be on four or two like Ivysaur)

All of the low tier legends are just "really strong pokemon", if you can even call it that. I have reason to believe that the intention now is that these pokemon are just extremely rare, and truthfully, any pokemon could be as strong as they are. Past a certain point, though, the legends become too strong for anyone to truthfully be able to match their power. I set Mewtwo as the hard measure of how powerful a physical being can get. Beyond that, they are an avatar of a natural force and CAN'T be overcome.

I would like to some more realistic gender ratios in Pokemon. For example a common species in a region should have more males to females. While rarer species have less males to females. According to the Travers-Willard hypothesis when a polyandrous species (which I assume is most mammalian Pokemon) is bountiful, resources are plentiful, and all is generally good, ie more common in the region more males are usually born. However if that same species is suffering, and resources are scarce, ie less common in a region, then usually more females are born.

But nowadays that's such a marginal wall, anyone who actually cares enough to go pokemon breeding will find a way around.

I don't care, the unbalanced ratio is stupid and always has been. The only starter I've EVER had female (excluding trades) was a Charmander, and only after about 50+ egg hatches for the very first one.
