Except it is much, much easier. You haven't drawn chibi before, have you? And no, you don't need to understand anatomy beyond the very basics to draw something that doesn't follow traditional anatomy.

It follows the same rules. If you fuck it up in some way you'll end up with something awkward and uncanny just search Chibi on deviant art to see what I mean.
